How it works

From sign-up to shred, every step under your name.

Here is the path a customer takes on Innbocks, what your team does at each step, and what the software takes care of on its own.

Free to set up. Nothing charged until your first customer activates.

Before your first customer

Set up your store. It takes minutes, and it's free.

  1. 01

    Create your store

Name, logo, colors, and your address. Your portal goes live on an innbocks.com subdomain or on your own domain.

  2. 02

    Connect Stripe

Customers pay your store directly. Card payments settle in your own Stripe account under your business name.

  3. 03

    Build your plans

Monthly rates, included scans and forwards, storage, and the per-action fees for everything else.

  4. 04

    Add your team and locations

Staff accounts for the counter, and extra locations if you run more than one store.

The customer path

Seven steps, every customer. Here is who does what.

  1. Sign up

    Customer

On your site, or from an invite you send. They pick a plan and enter their details once.

  2. Form 1583 and ID

    CustomerYour team

The form is pre-filled from what they entered. They upload two IDs and notarize online from their phone, in person at your counter, or with your own notary. You review and approve in one click.

  3. Activation

    Automatic

The box number is assigned when the first payment clears and the customer's portal opens. The approved Form 1583 opens a CRD task with the evidence you need to close it.

  4. Mail arrives

    Your teamAutomatic

Photograph the envelope and Innbocks matches the customer, or keep logging in PostalMate or ShipRite and the mail flows in by email. The customer gets an email or text from your store.

  5. The customer decides

    Customer

From their portal on your domain, on any phone or computer: open and scan, forward, hold for pickup, store, or shred. Fees from their plan are charged to their card.

  6. Your team works the queue

    Your teamAutomatic

Every request lands in one queue. Scan with the phone camera from the Innbocks app or any scanner, pack, hand over, or shred, and the customer is updated when it is done. Each action is written to a tamper-evident chain of custody.

  7. Compliance keeps pace

    AutomaticYour team

ID replacements and departures open their own CRD tasks, quarterly certification assembles your roster from live records before each deadline, and the records stay ready for inspection.

The honest split

What runs on its own. What still needs a person.

Automatic

  • Form 1583 pre-filled from the customer's details
  • Email and text notifications from your store
  • Box number and portal access on first payment
  • CRD tasks opened from compliance events
  • Quarterly certification roster from live records
  • Chain of custody on every mail piece
  • Platform billing reconciled against active customers

Your team

  • Review and approve each Form 1583
  • Log mail at the counter, or let PostalMate or ShipRite do it
  • Work the request queue: scan, forward, pickup, shred
  • File with USPS through the Business Customer Gateway, or let the Innbocks team file on Managed CRD, Compliance-only, and Complete

USPS holds the CMRA operator responsible for compliance. Innbocks organizes the forms, tracks the deadlines, and keeps the records ready, but it does not replace your obligations to USPS.

Two sides

Your team gets the dashboard. Your customers get your brand.

Your team

The operator dashboard runs in any browser, on a phone, tablet, or computer: today's queue, arrivals, customers, billing, and compliance in one place. The Innbocks app for iOS and Android puts intake and scanning in your staff's hands, so a phone camera replaces the flatbed scanner.

Your customers

A portal on your domain that works in any phone or computer browser, with nothing to install: new-mail alerts, envelope images, scans, and requests. Emails and texts come from your store, and the charge on their card shows your business name.
