Keep your mail software

USPS compliance only, without moving your mail operation

In one paragraph

A compliance-only account runs the USPS side of your mailbox business and nothing else. Customers complete Form 1583 and upload two IDs online, Innbocks tracks ID expirations and builds your quarterly certification roster, and the Prepare for CRD ledger shows what each record still needs. Your mail software, boxes, and customer billing stay exactly where they are, and you pay one flat rate per store location, not per customer.

Who a compliance-only account is for

Most stores that pick compliance-only already have mail software they cannot or do not want to change: a franchise that is locked into a corporate digital-mail vendor, a store that runs everything through PostalMate or ShipRite, or an operator who bills customers from a POS and has no reason to move that. What they lack is a system for the USPS obligations: a current Form 1583 and two IDs for every addressee, a record in the Customer Registration Database, and a quarterly certification signed on time.

  • Franchise locations whose digital mail and billing are set by the franchisor.
  • Stores on PostalMate, ShipRite, or another POS that already handles mail and renewals.
  • Operators who manage a few hundred boxes from a spreadsheet and want the compliance records out of it.
  • Any CMRA that has been told its CRD records are deficient and needs them current before the next certification.

If you also want mail scanning, a customer portal, and online billing under your brand, the full platform covers all of that, and a compliance-only account can be upgraded later through our team.

What a compliance-only account includes

  1. Import your roster

Upload your customer list with each PMB number. Every addressee becomes a compliance record with its own status, so you can see at a glance who has a current Form 1583 and who does not.

  2. Collect Form 1583 and IDs online

Each customer gets a link to complete a pre-filled Form 1583 from their phone and upload two IDs. Notarize in person at your counter, by video with your staff, or through the integrated online notary.

  3. Track expirations and changes

ID expiration dates are read from the document and reminders go out before they lapse. Address, name, and authorized-recipient changes flag the record for a fresh form.

  4. Prepare every CRD entry

The Prepare for CRD ledger gathers the approved form, both ID images, and the fields the Customer Registration Database asks for, and flags anything missing. You file each entry in the Business Customer Gateway with the Innbocks browser extension guiding every field, or hand the filings to the Managed CRD Service.

  5. Certify each quarter

Before January 15, April 15, July 15, and October 15, Innbocks assembles your roster, lists open CRD tasks and expired IDs, and gives you a clean attestation to sign.

Nothing about your mail changes

A compliance-only account has no mail queue, no mailbox inventory, no customer billing, and no customer-facing portal for mail. Your customers see Innbocks only when they complete their Form 1583 and IDs.

Add the Managed CRD Service if you want the filings done for you

Filing is optional on both account types. With the Managed CRD Service, the Innbocks team enters each approved record in the Customer Registration Database and submits your quarterly certification, closing every filing with recorded evidence you can show an inspector. It needs your CRID and your approval of our access in the Business Customer Gateway; nothing else changes.

Without it, you file your own records. The Prepare for CRD ledger tells you exactly what each entry needs, and the browser extension fills the Gateway form field by field. Either way, responsibility for CMRA compliance stays with the operator.

What a compliance-only account costs

A compliance-only account is billed per store location, monthly or annually, at the same rate whether that location holds forty boxes or four hundred. Stores with three or more locations get a discount on each location from the third. Nothing is charged until your first compliance record is active, and Innbocks never charges your customers.

The Managed CRD Service is a separate subscription, pay as you go per filing or as a flat monthly tier, and it is the same price on a compliance-only account as on the full platform. Contact us for current rates for your store.

How to start

  1. Create your account

Use the compliance-only sign-up link so the setup wizard opens on the compliance-only choice. Signing up is free; billing starts with your first active record.

  2. Import your customers

Upload a spreadsheet with each customer's name, email, and PMB number. Innbocks builds your compliance roster from it and shows what each record still needs.

  3. Invite customers to complete Form 1583

Customers who are missing a current form get an email or text with a link to finish it from their phone. Approvals open the matching CRD task automatically.

  4. Decide who files

File your own records with the browser extension, or enroll in the Managed CRD Service and let the Innbocks team do it.
